Tactical Narcotics Techniques March 4th-8th, 2024, in Clermont/Orlando, FL.

This is a special 5 day (36 hour) training program designed for Law Enforcement Investigators, Narcotics Investigators and Patrol Officers who participate in high-risk operations used to apprehend violent subjects narcotics investigations, gang investigations, prostitution/vice investigations and subjects involved in the illicit narcotics trade.  This conference is designed for agencies who serve their own narcotics/arrests warrants, conduct buy/bust operations, reverse sting operations and prostitution details.

Officers will be taught tactical vehicle assaults and tactical blocking that should be utilized during narcotics operations.  The class will also cover vehicle window breaching techniques as well as the specialized equipment which should be utilized during these operations.  Tactical planning for vehicle operations will be illustrated during class room and scenario based training exercises. 

The curriculum includes Tactical Narcotics Techniques, which details how to conduct short term operations used to infiltrate and target high priority area’s where narcotics and prostitution are presenting problems.  Instructors will cover vehicle assaults, high risk vehicle stops, high risk search warrant entries, and offer various tactical theories used to safely clear rooms and buildings.  The students will learn how to tactically approach and make entry into buildings by doing practical training exercise’s utilizing various facilities such as apartment buildings and houses.

Narcotics reverse sting operations and buy/bust operations will be covered in great detail.  Narcotics reverse sting operations are often under utilized by law enforcement agencies, which results in the loss of breaking up Drug Trafficking Organizations and large seizures of currency and properties. Proper investigative techniques will be presented through numerous case studies detail various operations.

The curriculum will cover various approaches used to successfully conduct consent searches on residences, hotels and businesses. Consent searches and approaches are the number one tool used when working interdiction cases. Students will participate in undercover practical exercises involving the use of role players during the training. This is a scenario based training course that will require PHYSICAL PARTICIPATION in the various scenarios and techniques being taught.

Students will be placed in situations that will involve the use of role players during some of the practical exercises.  Tactical case studies will be presented to show both correct and incorrect ways to prepare for tactical and narcotics operations.  A presentation on how to set up and operate undercover storefronts will detail how easy and cost effective it is for agencies to set up undercover locations.  Law Enforcement Agencies that utilize tactical undercover locations significantly reduce the liability to their agencies and provide safety to their officers and citizens. 

This class offers insight for both new and veteran investigators.  Narcotics investigations are high liability events that require proper training for the safety of the officers and citizens.  This is course is specially designed for agencies who participate in multi jurisdiction task forces and for narcotics units who serve their own search warrants and execute violent offender arrest warrants. The instructors for this course have a tremendous amount of experience on both the narcotics and tactical sides of high risk operations.

Conference Instructors

J.J Jurado: Sergeant, North Miami Beach Police Department. J.J has over 10 years of Tactical experience as an operator on the Special Response Team. He has completed five seperate SWAT certification training programs.  He is also certified as a Distraction Device and Specialty Impact Munitions Weapons Instructor.  J.J has a wealth of knowledge in tactical operations. He has spent most of his career in the Crime Supression Unit which targets violent offenders and undercover surveillance operations on career criminals. He currentky serves as the SRT team leader and is responsible for conducting much of the tactical planning for SRT operations.


Mike DeMarcus: Detective (Ret), North Miami Beach Police Department with over 21 years of law enforcement experience.  Mike worked in the Vice, Intelligence and Narcotics unit for over 14 years and worked on a DEA task force as well as a state task force specializing in money laundering and narcotics investigations.  Mike has extensive experience in narcotics reverses, indoor marijuana grow houses and long term crack cocaine investigations. Mike has participated in numerous long term investigations targeting and prosecuting both money laundering and narcotics trafficking subjects.  Mike has taught thousands of law enforcement officers from all over the world.  He has been a guest speaker for the Florida Narcotics Officers Association, New Jersey Narcotics Officers Association,  the Regional Organized Crimes Information Center Conference as well as at the Nowreigan Narcotics Officers Association in Oslo, Norway.

Lino Diaz: Captain, North Miami Beach Police Department with over 22 years of law enforcement experience. He is currently assigned as a road patrol Captain.  He oversees the Mobile Field Force Unit, PIO and Honor Guard.  He has been on the North Miami Beach Special Response Team for over 18 years and currently serves as a Team Leader. He has held assignments with the Crime Suppression Team, Tactical Unit, Auto Theft Task Force as well as a detective with the Robbery Intervention detail that targeted violent subjects.

Nelson Reyes: Sergeant, Aventura Police Department and a is a retired Sergeant from the North Miami Beach Police Department with over 28 years of law enforcement experience.  Nelson spent 17 years on the NMBPD Special Response Team.  He was a team leader for a number of years and wrote many of the SRT policies.  Nelson holds a wide variety of tactical and firearms certifications.  He is also a civil litigation specialist and has attended hundreds of tactical training courses over the years.  He has a vast wealth of knowledge in planning and executing tactical operations.
