The training is a 5 day (36 hour) program designed for Patrol Officers, Narcotics Investigators, Gang Investigators, Street Crime Investigators and Vice Investigators who come in contact with subjects associated with Narcotics,, Vice operations and Street gang criminal investigations. Gang Fraud and Identity theft crimes are surging and gang members are now moving away from narcotics for the more lucrative fraud based crimes. The training will show techniques used to identify and successfully investigate fraud based crimes by gang members.

The training will show investigators how to conduct undercover narcotics investigations targeting both street level and Drug Trafficking Organizations. Operational planing and search warrant briefings will be covered which will provide a step by step plan for conducting undercover narcotics investigations. Numerous case studies will be presented as a template for conducting successful investigations from start up all the way through prosecution in both state and federal courts.

Reverse Sting Operations for major narcotics investigations will be presented in order to show agencies how to successfully arrest and prosecute subjects involved with major Drug Trafficking Organizations. Reverse Sting investigations target narcotics buyers, distributors and businesses associated with illicit narcotics sales.   The training will also cover the Tactical Narcotics Techniques concept used to target gang members, narcotics dealers as well as individuals involved in the world of prostitution.

Undercover Vice investigations play a significant role in preventing crimes such as Human Trafficking and money laundering through businesses like illicit massage parlors. The training will cover setting up and conducting undercover vice investigations utilizing undercover personnel. The training will additionally cover investigating Pimps and their involvement in involuntary servitude.

Investigating Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs will also be covered in this training. Case studies will be presented along with officer safety issues.  Undercover storefront operations will be detailed showing investigators how to establish and run undercover locations that can be used for arresting narcotics subjects.  Investigators will be shown how to set up these covert locations utilizing specialty surveillance equipment and how to tactically outfit these locations.

Registration fee for the program includes the cost of instruction, handout materials, certificate of completion. Classroom dress is casual.                      Conference Instructors

Mike DeMarcus:
Detective (Ret), North Miami Beach Police Department with over 21 years of law enforcement experience. Mike worked in the Vice, Intelligence and Narcotics unit for over 14 years and worked on a DEA task force as well as a state task force specializing in money laundering and narcotics investigations. Mike has extensive experience in narcotics reverses, indoor marijuana grow houses and long term crack cocaine investigations. Mike has participated in numerous long term investigations targeting and prosecuting both money laundering and narcotics trafficking subjects. He also participated on seizures of $1.2 million dollars and $1.9 million dollars which resulted from reverse sting operations. Mike has taught thousands of law enforcement officers from all over the world. He has spoken for organizations such as the Florida Narcotics Officers Association, New Jersey Narcotics Officers Association, Norwegian Narcotics Officers Association, International Undercover Officers Association, and the Regional Organized Crime Information Center Annual Conference.

Jon Doherty: Jon is a Sergeant with the Gwinnett County Police Dept. He has over 18 years of law enforcement and has been in the vice unit for over 14 years. Jon has participated in countless undercover vice operations targeting prostitutes, pimps and Johns. He will present training on setting up undercover vice investigations and undercover officer safety techniques.

Darryl Nelson: Darryl is Major with the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office. Darryl and Jon worked numerous undercover vice investigations before Darryl transferred to the Sheriff’s Office to start up a vice and human trafficking unit. Darryl has also worked countless cases as an undercover officer as well as a case agent. Darryl successfully conducted a four year long Human Trafficking case that resulted in prosecuting numerous subjects in Federal court.

Steve Cook: Detective, in Missouri. Steve has over 30 years of law enforcement experience. Steve is considered to be one of the countries foremost experts on Outlaw Motorcycle Gang investigations. He has been featured on numerous documentaries and media outlets in regards to OMG investigations. Steve is also the President of the Midwest Gang Investigators Association and he has taught thousands of law enforcement officers from around the world. He has extensive undercover investigative experience and has a wealth of knowledge to share with fellow officers.
